The 3rd biennial Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Ontario Network of Expertise (FASD ONE) symposium was held in Toronto on March 24, 2016. We were honored to have an esteemed line-up of presenters who told us about developing plans, recent changes, new ideas and innovative techniques to prevent FASD and support those who are affected. Videos of each speaker’s presentation – including slides – can be viewed below.
FASD ONE is a volunteer collaborative committed to the prevention of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and the development and dissemination of evidence-based information that will support practitioners, as well as individuals affected by FASD and their families.
FASD ONE released FASD: A Call to Action in Ontario in March 2014. This document provided background information about FASD, the reasons why Ontario needed a provincial strategy and recommendations for moving forward. It was intended to help inform a province-wide strategy on FASD and now, thanks to the Government of Ontario led by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services, our vision is being realized.
